Celebrations as Nottingham business centre reaches 100% occupancy

Our Roden House Business Centre in Nottingham is celebrating achieving a full house, with all of its 53 units now occupied.

The centre has gained a name for itself as ‘the place to be’ for up-and-coming bands and singers to rehearse and record, and its latest occupant is a wedding performer.

It is the first time the centre has reached maximum occupancy and Centre Manager Jamie Douglas is keen for it to stay that way.

Flexibility is key

“Our key selling points are that we provide flexible, affordable business accommodation, offering out-of-town prices at just a two-minute walk from the city centre,” he says.

“We have had a lot of word-of-mouth business from happy customers so it’s pleasing to know that people want to recommend us to friends or associates.”

Jamie and his team aim to help businesses grow and flourish, as well as providing an attractive and welcoming work environment. Since he began working as centre manager last year, Jamie has encouraged networking between businesses at Roden House, as well as referring them to other customers at Bizpsace’s nearby Byron Industrial Estate in Arnold.

“We make our customers aware of other companies onsite who can help them to develop their business offering. I also do a lot of networking myself and pass on customers’ details to people I meet,” he adds.

Wide range of uses

The centre now has a variety of occupants, from start-up business to well established companies. It is also home to 11 recording studios and rehearsal spaces.

“So many musicians seem to work together or know other people on the local music scene, so we’ve had loads of referrals this way,” Jamie says.

Situated close to the university, Roden House is a popular choice for students looking to practice their music without disturbing the neighbours. The former Victorian lace mill is just a short walk from Nottingham city centre and provides offices, commercial premises, workshops and light industrial units .
