Celebrating Yorkshire Day 1 August | BizSpace Blog

Ey up. Happy Yorkshire Day!

With 14 thriving business centres across North, West and South Yorkshire, we’re reet proud to be celebrating everything great about the fantastic counties this Yorkshire Day.

We’re proud to be a part of the communities where are business centres are located. And by ‘eck, nowhere is community pride greater than in ‘God’s own country’ of Yorkshire.

This Yorkshire Day our centres throughout the region are getting in the spirit to mark the occasion and celebrate everything Yorkshire.

From a good old cup of tea to a proper pork pie, we’ve got it covered.

Civic celebrations

Customers of our Baltic Works, Dinning Business Centre and Cricket Inn Industrial Estate in Sheffield will be pleased to hear that this year’s civic celebrations are taking place in this South Yorkshire city.  They will feature a parade from the Town Hall through the city centre to Sheffield Cathedral.

A menu of traditional Yorkshire produce will be served to dignitaries and guests from throughout the county, celebrating the region’s traditional food and drink.

Our Sheffield business centres feature plenty of industrial units and workshops, as well as a number of offices.  And nearby we have our Bradmarsh Business Centre in Rotherham and Oaks Business Park in Barnsley.  Further north is our business park at Thornes Mill in Wakefield.

Pretty as a picture

Rural Halifax is privy to some of our most picturesque views in the UK at our Calderdale Business Park.  The site even features a roof terrace to enjoy taking in the scenic rolling hills and countryside.

The town will host a very special event this Yorkshire Day when the Piece Hall will reopen to the public for the first time since the start of its £19million conservation and transformation project.  The historic building opened in 1779, built to support the trading of ‘pieces’ of cloth.  At 10am on August 1 the bell above the west gate will be rung to echo the first day of trading on 1 January 1779.

City sites

Moving further east, in the heart of West Yorkshire, we have a range of business centres in the vibrant cities of Leeds and Bradford, including locations at Dudley Hill, Shipley, Greengates, Holbeck and Hunslet.  Here we have a very broad range of business accommodation for rent, and we’re home to a wide selection of businesses, including start-ups, tech firms, media companies, charities, performing arts schools and so much more.

From historic architecture to multiple micro-breweries, both cities have plenty to be proud of when it comes to Yorkshire heritage.
