First national sponsor of St Helens Town AFC

We are proud to announce that we are the first ever national shirt sponsor for St Helens Town Association Football Club’s (AFC) under 18s and under 21s teams.

The club, nick named ‘The Town’, is the local team to our Bold Business Centre.               

Club Chairman, John McKiernan says: “We are delighted with Bizspace as shirt sponsors. It’s a big boost to have a national name associated with our under 18s and under 21s teams.”

John explains: “Manufacturing the kits, laundering kits, hiring the ground, paying for match officials and refreshments for opponents – all these costs add up. We have been using social media to spread the message cost effectively that we need support.”

Record breaking deal

John continues: “Twitter has a #northwesthour, which is where local businesses can promote what they are up to. After a few tweets calling for shirt sponsors I received a message from Bizspace’s Sales and Marketing Director, Emma Long, agreeing to help.

“The sponsorship deal was sealed in less than 40 minutes – without doubt the fastest we have ever done!”

Bizspace’s Sales and Marketing Director, Emma Long comments: “We are keen to give something back to the communities we work in so it was an easy, quick decision to make!

“We have previously sponsored Ashmore Park Rangers’ Under 10s football team kit in 2013 as the team are local to our Planetary Business Park in Wolverhampton and we are also sponsoring the Bolton Strongman competition this month, an event that our staff at Halliwell Business Park say is growing in popularity in the local area.”

New starters for the season

Bizspace’s sponsorship will cover the costs of both teams’ shirts before the new season begins. The under 18s team will be operating in the North West Youth Alliance League starting mid-to-late August.

The under 21s is a brand new team for the club this year and they will play in the Cheshire FA’s League U21s from September until May 2015.

The Veterans is another newly formed team which is for players aged 35 and over. John continues: “We wanted to give older men an opportunity to continue playing football which they love.”

John is confident about the season ahead and we are looking forward to watching the teams’ progress in the year to come. John adds:
