Formula 1 engineering firm triples its workspace

London Colney customer Angle Consulting has tripled its workspace after gaining more work designing and manufacturing solutions for Formula 1 clients.

A long standing customer of ours, who has had a hand in designing elements of some of the world’s greatest sporting occasions, has undertaken a large expansion of his commercial premises.

Perry Cohn is the owner of Angle Consulting and Inch On Ltd, sister companies that design and manufacture bespoke solutions for military and sporting clients, both based at our Hertfordshire Business Centre in London Colney.

F1 work brings expansion

Perry has rented a 550 square foot unit with at our London Colney site for almost six years and this summer took on an additional 915 square foot workspace – almost tripling his business space.

“The additional space allows everything to look neat and smart. I am very proud to show people around the premises now as it looks fantastic, whereas before we were a bit cramped and crowded,” Perry says.

“We started working more and more with Formula 1 clients and their requirements for certain processes and procedures necessitated taking on extra space.”

Sporting spectaculars

As well as designing and manufacturing components for some of the latest generation of F1 engines, Perry’s companies have worked with Team GB, producing the shooting range used in the modern pentathlon at the London 2012 Olympics and part of Amy Williams’ bobsleigh which she used to win her gold medal in the 2010 Winter Olympics.

“It is very fulfilling to know you have helped produce such important sporting items, but it can be frustrating at times because often we cannot say what we have done because of client confidentiality,” Perry says.

Mechanical engineer Perry spent 10 years working for F1 teams before becoming an independent consultant.  He moved into the Hertfordshire Business Centre in 2008. Currently he has a team of three staff, but is looking to expand further as he experiences greater business growth. Perry adds

I really like working at the centre and I think Business Centre Manager Jalpa Braganza and her team do a brilliant job. They are very friendly, very professional and very accommodating.  If I could possibly help it, I would never want to move.

The Hertfordshire Business Centre offers a range of business space for rent, including workshops, storage units and both unfurnished and serviced offices. For more information contact Jalpa on 01462 484 000.
