Leaders struggling to engage with staff

Businesses looking to rent workshops in Stockport have been urged to reduce the pressure on managers so they can utilise their leadership skills.
Paul Bridle, leadership expert at PaulBridle.com, explained that the increasing economic pressure on managers to do more work with fewer employees is leading to poor employee engagement and a lack of leadership.
He noted that workers are looking for a confident leader that knows what they are doing and is willing to communicate with staff members regularly.
The leadership expert added that managers allowed to interact with employees will get the most out of their staff.
Mr Bridle added that a boss demonstrating poor leadership skills will lead to staff not operating quickly, dragging their heels and possibly undermining the leadership.
His comments come after a study conducted by DDI found that 37 per cent of workers are only sometimes or never motivated to give their best by their leader.
