A happy workplace ‘can make a huge difference’

A major recruitment company has given its views on how people can recognise the best employers in the UK.
When it comes to accessing the quality of a company, Adecco believes that there are five main factors to consider.
For one, an employer must have managers that show a commitment to their employees in order to excel.
On top of this, the business strategy set out by the organisation must be one which has a positive connection to the people associated with the company.
Adecco went on to advise companies to adopt a high-performance culture into their office space, whereby outstanding achievement is encouraged and possibly even rewarded.
Objectives set out to enhance a workplace environment and its productivity should also have a clear link to people practices, while managers should never fail to follow up on the employment experience which they have promised to their employees.
Companies which strive to achieve all of these pieces of advice will have a greater chance of seeing their staff members talk positively about their line of work, while trying to achieve the best results possible at every occasion, Adecco noted.
The recruitment specialist also pointed out that when employees are happy with their work, the firm’s staff turnover will usually highlight this feeling, with morale receiving a significant boost too.
Adecco also acknowledged: “An employer of choice selects the best people for the job and invests in their skills. They realise that motivation can make a difference to results.
“This contrasts with other, less supportive companies, who believe that it is more important to cut costs; their main aim is to save money, rather than motivate and encourage their staff.”
In other advice for improving motivation within a workplace, former Olympian Steve Backley, who is now a business motivator, recently stated that “competition is the heart of all performance”.
Therefore, companies should not feel concerned about having a rival in their line of business, but use it as an encouragement to take the firm forward.
