Swindon at the forefront of professional wrestling training
Budding John Cenas and Randy Ortons in the Swindon area can now learn the skills used by professional wrestlers in the world-class training facilities just launched by 4 Front Wrestling (4FW) at the Bizspace centre on Cheney Manor.
Launched at the centre two years ago, 4FW has just expanded into a larger facility within the centre, which now features two full-sized wrestling rings, including one to WWE standards. “This is the only training facility of this quality anywhere in Europe,” comments Mrs Angelene Aslantepe, club secretary. “We have two trainers with 7 years plus experience who have the drive and passion to train people from the very beginning, and to support it we are putting together a training syllabus that starts with the basics and goes right through the process leading up to becoming a professional wrestler.
“We have two three hour training sessions a week designed specifically for children aged eleven to 14 and we have two three hour sessions catering for adults, Sunday is a mixed 5 hour session. The children’s session are proving particularly popular as not only does it help to dramatically improve their fitness levels and social and acting skills, but parents tell us it gets rid of childhood aggression and they learn both discipline and respect for others by being around the trainers and wrestlers.
“One of our trainees who has been attending 4FW for almost 2 years and is 12 years old has autism and when he first came he found socialising difficult but his love of wrestling means he now interacts with all members and his wrestling skills are of a very high quality.
“4FW also organises a number of major wrestling events throughout the West of England and, as a result, all of our trainees – no matter what their age – are able to participate in helping us put these shows together. The kids don’t only learn how to put the show on the road, but they learn about sound and lighting systems, and video production, all of which could help them with their chosen career path.
“We also organise a special ‘Kids show’ twice a year so that the younger trainees can demonstrate their skills to their family and friends. Parents have commented that the kid’s shows are fantastic and didn’t realise what there children were capable of. The kids get so excited about there show and spend a lot of time choosing Names, Costumes and making sure the show is of the best quality.
“The Bizspace centre has proven to be the perfect location for us and our new facility not only has its own entrance and ample parking, but we enjoy the benefit having a wide variety of other businesses on site, ranging from van hire to catering, that we can use when required.

Centre manager Maureen Harvey comments, “4FW are typical of the small businesses that are continuing to expand in the current financial climate by taking advantage of the flexibility we provide. This removes the headache of long term financial commitments, whilst allowing businesses greater freedom to upsize, downsize or even relocate to meet the demands of their market.”
