Who are virtual offices for?

Freelancers

For freelancers building their business from home, a virtual office can be the first step towards getting established in a physical space – but without the commitment of renting an actual desk or room in an office building. It represents a more affordable way to build a professional business identity and presence.

Start-Ups

In the early days of any start-up business, using your resources wisely is key to getting off the ground successfully. A virtual office is a perfect solution for start-ups with an eye on their overheads while providing you with a professional, dedicated address and a place to call your office home when needed.

Frequently asked questions

You can use your virtual office address as your company’s registered office address. If you do, you must register this with Companies House. Any mail or correspondence from Companies House and HMRC will be sent to your registered ‘virtual office’ address. Please note your address will be made available to the general public on the central register at Companies House.

Renting a virtual office is significantly cheaper than renting a traditional office space. There are no long leases or maintenance costs that you’d be paying when managing physical office space. Instead, you just pay for an address plus an additional fee for add-on services like call and mail handling and forwarding.

Setting up a virtual office is easy:

Firstly, you need to know where you want your business address. BizSpace has various locations used as business addresses for hundreds of companies – choose from multiple BizSpace business centre locations across the UK. Once you’re happy with your location, get in touch.

Secondly, we’ll need to get you signed up. We use our one-page licences for mailboxes and virtual offices, which keep things nice and simple. The primary paperwork we need from you is to ensure we comply with Laundering (AML) Regulations. We must take copies of two original documents identifying you and verifying your address.

With everything verified and complete, we can provide you with your very own business address and can also discuss additional services like mail and call handling and forwarding. Once you have your business address, you can use this as your registered address on Company’s House and in your marketing and branding materials.

Anyone can use a virtual office. They’re typically used by freelancers and entrepreneurs who don’t necessarily need or can afford a traditional office space. They’re also used by small to medium-sized businesses looking to establish a presence in a specific location without a long-term lease commitment.

A virtual office is a flexible workspace solution that provides businesses with a physical address and office-related services without the expense of owning or leasing a traditional office. Employees can work from anywhere but still have essential office-related services like a mailing address, phone answering services, meeting rooms, and video conferencing.
