All is Wells in East Northants

BizSpace, in partnership with East Northamptonshire Council, is providing small businesses in East Northamptonshire with a dedicated, purpose-built business centre. In June 2020, Enterprise Centre East Northants reached completion and the builders handed over the keys. 

The centre comprises 82 high-quality serviced offices and workshops, has two meeting rooms, plenty of parking including disabled bays and e-vehicle charging, and a mailbox service.

While East Northamptonshire Council owns the building, BizSpace has been chosen to operate the centre on their behalf. But who is leading the charge on the ground? Our brand new Business Centre Manager, Fiona Wells.

A spotlight on Fiona Wells

I have worked in the commercial property industry for 14 years. Before joining BizSpace, I managed the Basepoint Innovation and Business Centre in Luton, a building of 54,000 square feet with plenty of businesses inside. Working my way up the ladder to where I got with Basepoint is what led me to and properly prepared me for my new opportunity with BizSpace at Enterprise Centre East Northants. 

Over my 14 years at Basepoint, I worked closely with Kent Thameside’s Delivery Board, plus Thurrock Council and Luton Council. This experience has made working with East Northants Council on this venture with BizSpace second nature.

I think the BizSpace Team is great! So helpful and witty, I love to laugh with colleagues. I already feel like I have been with BizSpace a long time, the transition has been simple and I can’t wait for what’s ahead.

Now lockdown is over I’ve started holding networking events at the centre and building the community. We had five new customers move in on the 1st July, our day of opening, and there are many more on the horizon. I can’t wait to help out these businesses, supporting them so they enjoy their day at work as much as I enjoy mine.

The journey of new start-up businesses is something I love, especially with ones based locally, and can’t wait to get stuck in with my customers. I’m just delighted to be the appointed Business Centre Manager of this gorgeous new build.
