Chorley customer fills gap in the online market

A forward-thinking customer at our Coppull Enterprise Centre in Chorley is enjoying sustained business growth thanks to its innovative business model.

The Digital Hut offers low cost website building and support, specially tailored for start-ups and SMEs. 

For a setup fee of £50 followed by a monthly cost of £20, businesses can have their own online presence, including website, domain name, hosting and a business Facebook page, all with no fixed term contract.

“We work with more than 300 clients throughout the North West, helping to create them an online presence quickly and easily. In fact our motto is ‘websites made simple’,” says co-founder Annmarie Law.

“My business partner Stephen Sharp and I had 30 years of experience in marketing and we realised there was a big hole in the market that we could fill. We both gave up our jobs for a blue chip company and took a massive risk starting our own business, but we knew we had a unique business model and thankfully it seems to be working well.”

Simple and convenient

The directors chose to base their business at Coppull Enterprise Centre as the location was convenient for all parties and liked the fact that our flexible terms made it simple and easy to set-up and move in.

The Digital Hut team design and build all their websites in-house and their customer-focussed approach helps them to stand out from competitors.

“We visit all our customers personally to find out what it is they need before beginning work on a site, and we have them finished within three weeks,” says Annemarie.

“We operate technical support seven days a week and can often make changes right away, while a customer is on the phone. Our business model depends on long-term relationships, so it’s important for us to offer great customer service and keep our clients happy.”

The Digital Hut has seen sustained business growth since it first launched at Coppull Enterprise Centre two years ago. It has expanded its services to offer email marketing and bespoke videos and has developed its team with the addition of two members of staff.

Its client base is wide ranging, including businesses such as hairdressers, farmers, roofers, plumbers, beauticians and factories, and it’s gaining more and more new business through recommendations from satisfied customers. The company aims to have 500 customers on its books by 2016.
