Co-working offers solution for mobile workers

If you’re a mobile worker, finding the perfect place to work when you’re out and about can be a challenge. Mobile workers spend most of their time on the move – travelling between areas or visiting clients – so heading back to a single workplace is usually not a practical option. But simply tracking down your nearest café with WiFi access is not always a great idea either.

It is unlikely that in a cafe you will be able to conveniently charge your phone or laptop while you work, which is vital for salespeople on the move.  And finding a parking spot in a busy town may be frustrating, or expensive.

Choosing to work in a public space can also raise issues IT security and offers very little privacy.

Our new co-working initiative The Work Lounge aims to offer mobile workers a network of convenient, comfortable workplaces across the UK. We are planning to open co-working spaces at Bizspace business centres located all over the country, offering more choices to mobile workers who need somewhere they can go to get on with their work.

The Work Lounge launches today

Our first Work Lounge location is at the Pixmore Business Centre, Letchworth, in Hertfordshire. The co-working space is being launched at an open day today where mobile workers, along with homeworkers and the owners of start-up companies, can visit the centre to find out more about the facilities on offer.

There are plans to open co-working spaces in Manchester and Brixton in the near future and we hope to roll out even more Bizspace Work Lounges soon.

With free high speed broadband, complimentary drinks, kitchen facilities and parking facilities, the workspaces will be the ideal place for mobile workers to head to between meetings and appointments, in order to make the most of their time and catch up with important tasks. The spaces will provide a comfortable environment where people can work independently, with a choice of desks and tables or more relaxed lounge areas.

The Work Lounge is also a cost-effective way of using office space as you only need to pay for the hours you actually use and there are no fees to pay to get started. It also allows you to mix with other like-minded professionals.
