Saddle up for Bizspace charity challenge

We are very excited to announce the first of several ‘wheelie big’ charity challenges that we will organise over the coming year.

This challenge is the first ever Bizspace Bike Tour, with money raised going to our one of our chosen charities – Macmillan Cancer Support. During the first week of June Bizspace staff, customers and members of the public will saddle up to ride the 230-mile tour around each of our 24 business centres in the North West.

Following the North West event, we plan to hold similar tours of our other five UK regions.

Thinking big

Our Sales and Marketing Director, Emma Long, explains the reasons behind the event. She says,

Macmillan has been our chosen charity in the North West for the past two years and this year we wanted to do something bigger than ever to give them a huge boost.

“A number of the Bizspace team are avid cyclists.  Last year our managing director, Gareth Evans, and our building surveyor, Andrew Ainsworth, completed the 190-mile London Revolution ride. We decided to take things a step further and create our own event.”

The tour will begin and end at Bizspace’s Europa Business Park at Cheadle Heath in Stockport, making its way through the Wirral, Chorley, Bolton, Preston, Burnley, Rochdale, Oldham and Manchester.

Community spirit

Both staff and customers will be saddling up for the event and members of the public are also being invited to join in the physical challenge, either for the full week or an individual day. Routes will vary from 33 miles to 52 miles in a day. 

“At Bizspace one of our core values is fun. That’s why we decided to make this an event that the whole community can enjoy and get involved with – both individuals and businesses,” Emma adds.

“Anyone who is interested in taking part is more than welcome to get in touch with us. We’re also looking for companies to sponsor refreshment stands en route as well as water bottles and commemorative t-shirts, or to help in other ways.

“Macmillan is a charity we are so proud to support and we have first-hand experience of the excellent and admirable work that they do. We can’t wait to get on our bikes and get donations rolling in.”
