By car: We’re conveniently located just off the A692 – the main road linking the A68 in County Durham to the west and the A1 in Newcastle to the east. From the A68, we’re roughly two and a half miles, taking around five minutes. From Consett town centre, it’s approximately a four-minute drive via Knitsley Lane. Newcastle is about 30 – 40 minutes away, and Durham is about 25 minutes away.
By train: The closest train stations are Stocksfield – roughly ten miles away – and Durham – approximately 12 miles away. From here, the best mode of public transport is the bus. From Durham, the X5, X15, and X45 X lines take roughly an hour.
By bus: There are several bus stops nearby. Hownsgill Industrial estate bus stop – located less than a one-minute walk away – is served by the X45 X-lines, 16 and 16A Durham Diamond buses. The chequers stop – about a two-minute walk away – is also served by the 824 and 826 buses.
By air: Newcastle airport is the closest airport, less than 20 miles away. From here, it’s roughly a half an hour’s drive via the A694. Public transport via Newcastle upon Tyne will take longer – just under two hours. From here, take the X45, X71 or X72 X lines service.
