Triple award success for BizSpace Bradford customer

One of our Bradford customers is celebrating award success for its approach to energy efficiency.

Viva Gas, based at our business centre in Bradford’s Dudley Hill, was named Boiler and Heating Installer of the Year 2016 for Yorkshire and Humberside in the Energy Efficiency and Retrofit Awards. The company then went on to compete at a national level, coming third in the UK-wide Boiler and Heating Installer of the Year award.

Viva Gas’s Managing Director Richard Firth also came third in the category of Energy Efficiency Champion of the Year for Yorkshire and Humberside.

The family-run business specialises in boiler and central heating installations in Yorkshire and Lancashire.

Richard says: “Customers are the centre of our universe and very much the backbone that drives us. We have a fantastic team who work within the office and are considered to be experts in assisting customers and handling a plethora of queries.

“They work to the highest of quality standards and are exceptionally committed, dedicated and focused ensuring each and every customer regardless of revenue generation is taken care of above and beyond all expectations, leaving us setting the standard.”

He adds: “Viva Gas has submitted over 40 million tonnes of carbon to the big six energy companies, handled over 4,000 customer queries, installed over 38,000 metres of copper pipe, freed countless birds from behind fires and is accountable for drastically reducing fuel poverty within our region.”

Commitment to the community

Viva Gas is currently the only firm in Yorkshire allowed to sell and install the Flow boiler, a gas boiler which generates electricity as it heats the home. And the company is now planning on producing a leaflet for primary schools in Bradford to help them understand more about energy efficiency and how renewable energy can protect the environment.

Viva Gas is also actively involved in the community as well as supporting charity work. The firm sponsors the Bolton Woods Junior Football Team U11s as well as Liam Dale, a 23-year-old motorcycle racer from Bradford.

In addition to working with local charities, Richard has travelled to Cambodia with Hope for Justice, a charity dedicated to helping children escape the sex trade. During his trip, he met girls aged between three and 12 who had been rescued and taken to safe houses where they are given counselling and education.

Richard hopes to continue working with the charity and join it on further missions in other parts of the world.
