Team Valley cafe has big plans for future

Facilities at our Team Valley Business Centre in Gateshead have been further enhanced with the addition of Valley House Deli, our new onsite cafe.

A new café at one of our centres is planning to extend both its menu and its opening hours.

Valley House Deli is based at our Team Valley Business Centre in Gateshead. It opened back in October and the owners are currently carrying out a refurbishment project to improve the café and allow them to offer a wider range of hot and cold food.

At the moment Valley House Deli is open at 7am so people working at the centre or for nearby businesses can go there for breakfast. It then remains open until the evening, but it is hoped that in the future the business will be given permission to stay open 24 hours a day.

Tahsin Mahdi, a partner in the business, says: “At the moment we are open through the day but we’d like to open longer so we can accommodate all the people in the area who work long hours. We are very welcoming and friendly and we sell a wide range of hot and fresh food.

We make freshly made food to order and I think the variety we offer makes us unique.

As well as breakfasts, Valley House Deli sells a range of continental and Mediterranean food including pizza, pasta, wraps and burgers.

More display units are currently being added to the unit to allow staff to put a greater selection of food on display for hungry workers to choose from.

Café enhances existing facilities

The café adds to the facilities on offer to our customers at Team Valley, which has recently been completely refurbished. We took over managing the centre, which had been empty for several months, last summer and it is already attracting a range of businesses.

Since the refurbishment, nine offices and eight industrial units have been rented out, with more companies expressing an interest in joining the centre.

Stacey Normandale, Team Valley’s Business Centre Manager, says: “Things are going really well at the centre and we are building up a thriving business community.”

Another major plus point for the centre is its excellent transport links. It is less than two minutes’ drive from the A1 and less than two miles from Newcastle Railway Station.

The centre has industrial units, workshops and offices in a range of sizes which are ideal for both small and medium-sized businesses.
