Didcot nappy brand wins four awards
One of our customers at Didcot Enterprise Centre has won an amazing 4 awards in the last two weeks for its Wonderoos - washable nappies.
One of our Didcot customers has won four awards in a matter of days for its cloth nappies.
Earthwise Trading, which is based at our Didcot Enterprise Centre, in Oxfordshire owns Wonderoos, a brand of washable nappies. In the last two weeks, the company has received a:
- Mums Love award from Babyworld.co.uk
- a 5-star thebabywebsite.com loves award
- a Prima Baby silver award in the reusable nappy category and
- a silver award from the online review site Bizzie Baby.
Not only have the accolades been a huge boost to staff morale, they have also helped achieve business growth by attracting new stockists.
Business owner Christine McRitchie, says: “Our focus has been to develop and manufacture Wonderoos as a reliable, reusable nappy that appeals to families who want to save money. We’re honoured to have received such astoundingly positive feedback from our customers and industry experts that confirm that we’re achieving our goals.”
Perfect premises
Earthwise Trading moved into Didcot Enterprise Centre just over a year ago. The company, which employs three people part-time, has two business units at the centre, including a stockroom and order processing unit.
Before moving into the business space, the company had been run from Christine’s home.
Charlotte Heath, Marketing Manager, says:
It’s been a massive relief for Christine to move the company out of her home and into a business centre. We have all said how lucky we are to be in this building, as we are a small company and everyone works part-time, so the fact there is a reception which can take our deliveries and sign for them is brilliant as it means we don’t have to have people on the premises full-time.
Christine, who is married with four daughters, first created Wonderoos in 2002 when she was frustrated by the pocket nappies she used coming in several sizes. Her creation was the original “one size” pocket nappy, which can be adjusted to fit babies from 8lb to 35lb.
Business is expanding
In March 2013, Christine took the business to the next level. The brand was bought by Earthwise Trading and it evolved from being a home business to a company run from commercial premises. Since then, improvements have been made to the nappy’s design and the new V3 Wonderoos were launched in October and are now sold throughout the UK and Europe.
Charlotte says:
We have been completely blown away by winning four awards. The atmosphere in the office is absolutely wonderful. We have also landed a couple of new stockists from winning these awards.
Didcot Enterprise Centre includes a mixture of offices, studios and workshops. It also includes a meeting room that can be hired by the hour, half-day or day.
