Help make Stacey’s wedding wish come true!
Our fabulous manager of Team Valley Business Centre is fundraising for Cash for Kids Charity as part of a contest to win a dream wedding.
Congratulations to the fabulous manager of our Team Valley Business Centre, Stacey Normandale, who has made it to the final of a contest to win a dream wedding.
Stacey, 27, has known fiancé Graeme for 10 years and the couple got engaged on Christmas Eve 2013. But after recently buying a house, the pair have had to put wedding plans on hold while they save for the big day.
Stacey says a friend told her about the competition to win a £23,000 luxury wedding with Metro Radio’s Cash For Kids Charity. After impressing a panel of judges to make it through to the final six couples, Stacey and Graeme now have just a fortnight to raise as much money as possible for the charity. The winners will be the couple who bring in the biggest amount of cash.
“I think this is the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life. In the past four days since fundraising started I’ve had about six hours’ sleep and hardly eaten at all!” says Stacey, who has been Business Centre Manager at Team Valley since it opened in 2013.
“We are aiming to raise around £600 a day if possible, but we won’t know how we or any of the other couples are doing until the end of the contest.
“It’s such an exciting opportunity, but whether we win or not it’s fantastic to be supporting such an amazing charity. Children deserve to have a happy childhood and 97p of every £1 raised for Cash For Kids goes straight to help the children, which is brilliant.”
Frantic fundraising
So far Stacey and Graeme have been fundraising before events at the Metro Arena and been collecting at bars around Newcastle, as well as selling cakes at a wedding fair. This week Stacey is planning some activities at Team Valley Business Centre and has next week booked off to concentrate on collecting as much as possible in the final few days.
Stacey and Graeme have their own dedicated fundraising page and anyone who donates will be entered into a draw to win a pair of handmade glitter glasses.
“All this has happened so quickly and now the pressure is on to raise as much money as possible,” says Stacey.
“We’re trying to think of as many ideas as possible. This weekend we are having a quiz and bingo night and we are planning an event with a raffle, auction and live band. If anyone or any companies can help us, either by letting us collect at events or donating raffle or auction prizes, we would be so grateful!”
Bizspace’s Sales and Marketing Director, Emma Long, comments: “Stacey is always so full of energy and enthusiasm and has a smile for everyone, so we are sure that lots of people will be getting behind her to raise as much as possible for Cash For Kids. We are all rooting for her as she would be such a worth winner of this competition!”
