Our Newton Heath business centre bucks the trend
Despite the doom and gloom of the current economic climate, our Wilson’s Park business centre is helping more companies than ever to launch, grow and thrive.
The business centre in Newton Heath, Manchester, now has a record occupancy level, with all of its light industrial and studio spaces fully taken.
Offering a variety of flexible workspace just a stone’s throw from the city centre, Wilson’s Park is proving popular with local businesses as well as those moving to the area from further afield.

A positive outlook
Business Centre Manager, Peter Kevins, says the secret is to remain upbeat about business success.
“There are a lot of gloom merchants who are letting the economic climate hold them back, but at Bizspace we say ‘recession? What recession?’ and have carried on as normal,” he comments.
“Our attitude has never changed and that has helped our customers to have confidence in us and we have seen our market share grow as a result.”
This positive outlook, combined with the range of business facilities offered at Wilson’s Park, have helped its occupancy to grow higher in 2013 than its previous record in 1991. The spacious on-site free parking facilities are a big draw, as well as 24-hour access to the business centre, site security, on-site cafe and meeting rooms available to hire by the hour.
Wilson’s Park is also mid-way through a renovation programme for one of its floors of office space. Once complete, a further 12 newly-refurbished office units will be available to let.
Flexibility is key
As always, Bizspace’s flexible terms and conditions are a great benefit to any businesses which are worried about a long-term financial commitment. Start-up businesses in particular can benefit from our flexible business packages which can be tailored to suit their needs.
“Rent and rates are obviously huge commitments for businesses, so we have had a lot of interest from customers who feel much happier about, for example, taking a six month lease with us, rather than having to sign up to a three year term elsewhere,” Peter continues.
“It is also pleasing for us to see so many out-of-town businesses moving to Wilson’s Park, who are taking advantage of having all the bells and whistles of a city centre business centre, but without the premium price tag. During my three years as centre manager I have seen a significant increase in companies moving into the business centre from further afield, so we now have a good mix here.”
New transport links close to the business centre have also increased its popularity. There is now a tram stop just a five minute walk away, with trams into Manchester every five minutes. Buses run every 10 minutes into the city.
Something for everyone
Wilson’s Park offers a variety of flexible workspace to suit any business type, including:
- offices
- light industrial units
- studio space and
- meeting rooms.
The business centre offers 85 business units to rent, ranging in size from 50 to 2,400 sq ft (5 sq m to 222 sq m), and is home to a varied mixture of companies including pharmacies, legal firms and vehicle repair firms, to name just a few.
