Sleeping rough for Swindon Night Shelter

A group of our customers and staff from BSS House will be spending one night sleeping rough in a car park to experience for themselves what it is like to sleep on the streets. As a group they have set themselves a fundraising target of £500, an achievement they hope to accomplish with all proceeds going towards Swindon Night Shelter.

With One Vision Signs, a past occupier who donated two banners in order to help us advertise and professional photos being taken throughout the evening courtesy of Emma Lord Photography, who is also based in BSS House; this will be a real community event.

A charity that gives back to the community

The Swindon night shelter is run by a religious group of volunteers who aim to give back to the community through emotional and physical support for the homeless. Every Friday evening, the shelter offers a hot meal, a chance to shower and wash clothes, plus a bed for the night. The shelter offers the opportunity to relax, chat, and receive advice about help and support in the week.

Kirsty Priest, BSS House Centre Manager said

“One of BizSpace’s values is fun, and as a company, we like to give something back. What better way to have fun, give something back and raise not only vital funds but also awareness.”

Homelessness can happen to any one of us, at any time. Swindon Night Shelter is a customer of BizSpace Swindon and they do fantastic work.

All money raised will be put towards Swindon Night Shelter’s new café for the community called ‘The Gate’, and a shop within their unit in BSS House. In a world full of homelessness, addiction, fear and rejection, Swindon Night Shelter aims to show that there is somebody who cares. We want to be part of this compassionate service they provide and help them raise the funds they need to help others.

As a company, the strong partnerships we have with our customers allow us to collaborate with them to help them achieve their goals and do what we love doing best: being a community that gives back.
